The Docks, featured in Rand McNally’s Editor’s Picks of places to eat in the South offers an eclectic menu sure to satisfy a wide variety of tastes from seafood to steaks and lighter choices for the children. All the entrées are developed by owner chef Mark Hall with the entire menu prepared on-site ensuring the freshest food available.
The Docks signature dish, shrimp and grits, is a delicious choice. Made from the freshest jumbo shrimp from the Gulf, the dish features southern stone ground grits from Falls Mill and Andouille sausage in the chef’s own secret pepper cream sauce. The combination, though unusual, makes for a scrumptious dish you are sure to love.
You may choose from the selection of freshly made dressing for the salads or try a cup of rich and satisfying homemade soup as you dine al fresco on the tiered deck, near water’s edge, as you watch one of the beautiful Alabama sunsets.
Traveling the river by boat? Plan to stop for dinner at The Docks, with a deep water pier adequate for most pleasure boats. If you desire to dine in a relaxed dining room, The Docks can offer you panoramic views of the river from nearly every seat in the house.
Nightly specials are available during the week with several remarkable specialties such as the slow roasted prime rib or Alaskan snow crab legs. Be sure to save room for dessert! The Docks Seafood and Steakhouse is open Tuesday through Saturday. Dinner is served from 5 until 9 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday and 5 until 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
